Would you buy a used car from these people?

Promises, Promises: Health Care Bill is Biggest 'Faith-Based' Vote Ever in House

If you were shopping for a used car, and you spotted one that you liked -- the right make and model and color, say -- but it had problems -- say, it needed new tires, new tie rods, and work on the transmission -- would you buy it if the dealer promised to fix those things if and only if you buy the car first?

I doubt it.

But Pelosi is asking the House to do just that. To sign off on a broken bill and trust the Senate to fix it.

Legislators need to vote on bills as they're written, not as somebody promises they'll be re-written, but only if they're enacted first.
