One legal, one illegal, both needless

Today is the anniversary of two equally needless deaths.

Yvonne Tanner, a 22-year-old mother of one, had an abortion performed by Stephen Pine and/or Morton Barke July 10, 1984 at Inglewood abortion facility in California. Yvonne went into a coma immediately after the abortion, and died August 14, 1984. Her death certificate indicates coma, hypertension, and urinary tract infection. Yvonne was one of six women known to have died at the Inglewood facility. The others were Kathy Murphy, Lynette Wallace, Elizabeth Tsuji, Cora Lewis, and Belinda Byrd.

Today is also the anniversary of the day Kristina Humphrey died of complications of a "safe" herbal abortion she chose to perform on herself in preference to a clinic abortion. Kris died in 1994.
